Tongyeong is a small port city on the south coast of Korea. Surprisingly it was never a place on my radar, mainly because I have always lived quite far from it. If you live in Korea – especially around Busan it is well worth a visit.
The main attraction is simply the location. Tongyeong is blessed with an amazing geography, you can wake up and see an ocean sunrise then later in the evening skip across town and see an ocean sunset. The town is straddled between the mountains and the sea and is an ideal place to base yourself if you want to do a bit of island hopping
